From the time she was little, Morgan knew what she wanted from life. She wanted power. It was her obsession. As a young woman in high school and college, she realized that her beauty granted her power, at least over those who found her attractive. She learned to use this power to her advantage, leaving a string of broken relationships behind her in the process. Ultimately she decided this type of power, while useful, was too limited. She didn’t want to be the wife or companion of power; she wanted to wield it for herself.

She graduated with a B.A. in Economics, and entered the corporate world by getting a job with the San Francisco Foundation, a philanthropic organization that “mobilizes resources and acts as a catalyst for change in the community.” The Foundation headquarters are on Bush Street, near the Financial District. There, she discovered a new kind of power in the corporate hierarchy. Money talks, and people listen regardless of their opinion of you. She quickly ascended the corporate ladder, but then encountered the “glass ceiling.” She became more frustrated as she saw the power she wanted just beyond her reach.

Corporate power had failed her, so she started looking for something else. Her search led her to Dominic Spenser, and through him to the Winter Lady, Maeve. Maeve was impressed with Morgan, and offered her Winter power; the price was allegiance to Winter. Morgan agreed, and became the Agent of Winter in San Francisco. With the abilities granted her by Maeve, she at last found the power she had been seeking. The glass ceiling was no longer a barrier to her. She became CEO of the Foundation within a year, a position she has held ever since.
